Cuff--Sc in joining of 2 Blocks, repeated around. Sl st to center of 1st shell. Ch 5 for a tr, repeated around and join. Fasten off. Repeat on other Sleeve.

Block Jacket to desired size. Run ribbon thru beading row around neck and sleeves.

BABY SET

-Blocks, joining to each other and to -Blocks on Front and Back, leaving 5 Blocks on bottom of Sleeve section free. Repeat on other side of Cape.

Block Cape to desired size. Run 1-yd. of ribbon thru beading around neck. Fasten bottom corners of Yoke with a pearl button.

Stretch and pin Robe right-side-down on a large, padded table or board. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.

"ON THE SQUARE"

Stretch and pin Scarf right-side-down in a true 30-inch square. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.

Stretch and pin right-side-down in a true circle. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.

Stretch and pin right-side-down in a true circle, pinning down each lp of Edge. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.

"CLIMAX TO SMARTNESS"

Lay Top and Under Side back-to-back and sew tog. around edge, going thru both lps of each st. Steam and press dry thru a cloth.

Pin Bag, Gussets and Tab right-side-down in true shape. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. Cut buckram slightly smaller than large piece. Bend it sharply crosswise 1" each side of center to form bottom of bag. Cover each side of buckram with felt, stitching tog. around edge and on each bend at bottom. Cut 3 pieces buckram to fit bottom, cover with felt and glue or stitch to bottom of lining. Sew lining inside bag. Cut buckram to fit each Gusset. Bend lengthwise in center. Cover on one side with felt and sew on back of each Gusset. Sew a Gusset in each end of bag, going thru 1 lp of each st. Fasten Handles at top of Gussets. Sew wide end of Tab at top of Daisies on back of bag. Sew button on center Daisy at top of front and button Tab over it.

"DICKEY 'DORABLE"

Stretch and pin work right-side-down. Steam and press dry thru a cloth. Cut Back of net or cloth with a 6" opening from neck down center. Fasten neck with a lp and button. Sew Back to Vestee at shoulders. Tack a 12" ribbon at side of each piece at waistline.

Steam and press dry on wrong side thru a cloth. Run a thread thru each Block around top edge and gather tightly.

Repeat for Left Mitten, turning Thumb and Palm opposite-side-out to reverse thumb.

Following Chart, join 38 Red Blocks and 4 Variegated Blocks for each Sleeve, joining ends of 6 rows marked A. Join 46 Red Blocks and 6 Variegated Blocks for Back. Join 42 Red Blocks and 6 Variegated Blocks for Front, joining the 4-Block row on each side of Front to corresponding row on each side of Back. At top of center Front, do not join the 2 Blocks marked C to corresponding Blocks on other side of Front. At shoulders, join Blocks marked D. Join Red to corner shell marked A on Back, ch 3, sl st in corner shell marked A on Front, ch 1, hdc back in same shell on Back, forming a triangular opening on shoulder. To fill in, ch 3, dc under hdc, 3 times, tr in joining of Blocks, 2 dc in next p on side of Block D on Back, twice, tr in joining of Blocks, 2 dc in next p, twice, sl st in 1st dc. Ch 3, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 1-ch sp, ch 1, dc in next 1-ch sp, sk 4 dc, dc in next 1-ch sp, dc in next 1-ch sp, sk 4 dc, dc in next 1-ch sp, ch 1, dc in next 1-ch sp, sl st in 1st 3-ch. Fasten off. Repeat on other shoulder.

To fill in all half-squares marked B on Chart, join Red to middle p up right-hand-side of a half-square, ch 1, dc in next p, 3 tr in joining of Blocks, dc in next p, ch 1, sc in next p, ch 2, dc in next p, ch 2, turn, dc in 3 center tr, ch 2, dc in same p where work started, ch 3, sc in next p. Fasten off.

To round top of Sleeve, make sc in center p at top of Block E, ch 2, 2 dc in next p, ch 2, 3 dc in joining of Blocks, ch 2, 2 dc in next p, ch 2, sc in next p. Fasten off.
